Abilene Engagement Session – Ashley + Chris

I am so excited to share the photos from the engagement session we did a couple of weeks ago. When I asked Ashley and Chris what direction they wanted to take with their photos they told me they wanted to go for a day out in the big city with a worn-in vintage feel. I of course loved this idea and was completely on board. We had so much fun taking our time and hitting a few sweet spots. Ashley and Chris are such a wonderful couple! Their photos and relationship dynamic show that romantic can still be really fun and playful…at least that’s what I think. So here’s a look at the little jewels from the day!

Early Engagement Session – Krista + Hunter

Krista and Hunter are one of my favorite couples this year. I had an awesome time with them photographing their engagement out at the oldest pecan orchard in Texas. We love going out to our client’s property for shoots, not only does it lend variety to our shots but it gives the images a personal significance. Plus the Specks have a lovely spread with great farm equipment, fun rustic barns- and I love to photography hay bales and they had plenty of them! I’m really happy with the rustic feel and the western look we were able to achieve giving the photo shoot a true Texas touch. I can’t wait to shoot their Vintage -Texas Chic wedding at Brennan Vineyards next month!

Baird Engagement Session – Courtney + James

There is something so captivating to me about small towns. The quaintness. The simplicity. The love stories… That is what good country songs are made of right? Courtney and James are from Baird – the antique capital of west Texas, and wanted their engagement session there. It was truly a pleasure having no agenda when I met them for their session. I said “Ummm…. follow me… I don’t really know where we are going.. we are just going to explore!”

Abilene Engagement Session – April + David

I was so thrilled when April and David wanted to do their engagement session in Downtown Abilene. The urban environment has so many possibilities and it’s just such a fun place to shoot. Add this with a couple that loves each other dearly and it makes for a wonderful afternoon!

I’ve shot many an Engagement Session in Downtown Abilene, but with April and David we explored the more industrial side I had never paid much attention to before.

Shelley + Edwards Awsome Save The Date Cards!

Wedding planning has consumed the past year or more of your life. Full of milestone tasks and concrete deadlines, your schedule becomes more and more hectic as the months wear on. In the midst of your frenzied agenda, it is easy to forget that the guests you want to invite also struggle with their own daily schedules.

Today, people often plan vacations, business trips, family outings and church events at least four to six months in advance. To ensure your guests include your wedding on their calendars, they need to know about it first. But if your invitations go out only six weeks prior to the wedding, your window of opportunity for an acceptance may have long since past.

The solution comes in the form of save the date cards-also known as save the date invitations. Coming in many varieties, couples send save the date cards about four to six months in advance of the wedding. These cards let people know the date and location of your wedding so they plan ahead to keep the date free.

Because save the date cards are a relatively new wedding tradition, the rules of etiquette for them are still being written. It is certain, though, that you must make sure every person who gets a save the date card also gets an invitation. But should you send them to every guest on your invitation list?

Experts recommend sending save the date cards to as many of the guests on your list as possible, especially those who will be traveling from out of town.

We here at Tilt Shift Studios have a variety of options when it comes to Save The Date Cards. You can order flat or folded cards featuring your engagement photos and customize the design and color scheme to match your wedding. Here’s a look at the cards we did recently for Shelley and Edward – their wedding theme is clean and elegant featuring a black and white damask pattern with a crisp kelly green accent for a modern twist.

Brownwood Enagagement Session – Shelly + Edward

It’s engagement session season! Oh, how I love thee. The weather is still somewhat cool here in Brownwood Texas, people are happy and in love, and I get to follow them around with my camera. What more could a girl like me ask for?

Shelly and Edward wanted a hip, modern downtown engagement session to fit with their modern and stylish wedding at the Brownwood Country Club. And of course they had to include Edwards two beautiful daughters in some of the shots for some great family portraits. Shelly and Edward are getting married in July and I can’t wait for their sure to be fabulous wedding.

Abilene Engagement – Alissa + Cole

Alissa and Cole met me in Abilene for their fabulous engagement session. We started off at Hardin Simmons where they met, went to downtown, then more downtown, and then finished up a little outside of downtown :) . Alissa and Cole preferred the more modern look so we were in search of clean and crisp lines.

We were super lucky that the Hardin Simmons chapel where they will be getting married was open so we could take some really dramatic shoots in there. Cole’s twin brother is a pianist so of course we had to do some poses with the fabulous grand piano.

Alissa has the most contagious smile, every time she smiled I found myself smiling immediately :) . This couple was so flexible, willing to smile anywhere…even in an empty construction site. Such a smart, beautiful, outgoing, sweet, kind and friendly pair. It was a real pleasure getting to drive around with these new friends.

Enjoy!

Abilene Engagement – Andrea + Tim

I’m so excited to be posting Andrea and Tim’s engagement session! We shot in downtown Abilene for an urban feel and with Andrea’s fabulous red dress it turned out very elegant, yet fun. Since we scheduled it on a Sunday we got to use all sorts of awesome spots I’ve always wanted to use but were always full of cars. Like this really great parking garage with large old fashioned paned windows. Here are a few of my favorites.
