We’re thrilled to present the first of many 2011 wedding albums! Jennifer & Cody had their gorgeous day at First Christian Church and reception at 181 Pine in Abilene on January 8th. To reflect the elegant fusion of traditional and modern at their wedding, Jennifer and Cody chose a classic black leather cover with a modern silver imprint of their first names. Check out their awesome album below!

Stephanie + Bradley – The Wedding Album

The capstone to my wedding work is the wedding album. While shooting the wedding I am always thinking about what will look great in the album. Ultimately, it is my goal to encompass my clients’ wedding story in a gorgeous, custom wedding album that reflects their personal style. I cannot stress enough the value of a beautiful wedding album. The wedding day comes and goes in a blur as does the wedding cake, flowers, and food. With the exception of your wedding photography, not much evidence remains to showcase your special day.

In the digital era, the importance of a physical album might seem less significant or unnecessary. I couldn’t disagree more! About 80% of my clients choose a wedding album as part of their wedding day coverage. I choose to keep my wedding album designs very clean and simple. I want the photos to bring my clients back to that moment for years and years after their wedding day.

Stephanie and Bradley ordered 3 of my largest albums for their wedding, one for themselves and one for each of their parents. I thought the album was so beautiful I just had to share it. The black and white snakeskin patterned leather with the off center cameo was the perfect choice to represent their modern style!

Kaitlyn’s Fabulous Bridal Album

I am IN LOVE with the new sample album I received the other day. This album was necessary for a few different reasons: 1) I was drooling over the new 2010 eco materials my album company recently released, 2) I needed a sample portrait album to showcase my more avant-garde design layouts , and 3) I wanted to try one of their non-flushmount products–the linear-bound coffee table book. I could not be happier with this book, it’s a wonderful lower cost option for those who prefer a lighter weight book than the flush-mount albums.

The fabulous lime green snakeskin cover with an off center skinny brushed aluminum cameo!

You can still get spine imprinting in silver, gold or black

Hand-bound yumminess

The pages don’t lay completely flat but they come very close

IMG_1977

The pages are thinner which makes the book lighter weight than a flushmount but still sturdy

The color reproduction is fantastic!

Actually, I was a bit surprised (pleasantly!) by the pages. I was expecting the linear-bound pages to be much more flimsy than the flushmount pages, but they are still very sturdy and shiny.

The texture of the cover is delicious- you really must see it in person!

New Cover Swatches!

Ever since I came across Forbeyon wedding albums, I fell in love. They have so many beautiful cover options and you can even mix the leathers and colors to make the album completely your own. But there was one thing , I wondered if they had some sort of swatch samples for all their covers because I couldn’t possibly order a ton of studio samples in every cover and combination. It would be such an overload for a client to view. Thankfully and brilliantly, they came up with these cute 3×3 square cutout samples. It showcases all 42  cover options and since they are actual slices of the cover material you feel the texture also .

They came in this cute little box:

Wedding Guest Book: Stephanie + Bradley

Ok, so I guess these last couple of posts are plugs for some of the different products , but Stephanie and Bradley”s Guest Book looks so awesome I just had to share it.

The engagement session guestbook is absolutely one of my favorite wedding products. I mean come on! Do you remember the lame-o plain sign-in books with the lined pages? Who even looks at those again? Who even keeps the book?? :) So whoever thought of the engagement session guestbook album is a genius in my opinion.

This album is very much like a custom designed coffee table book that one would keep in their purse to show off professional portraits to their friends. However, the difference is that this guestbook album is usually printed in a larger format (the following photos are from an 8×8″ book), and include more “open” space throughout the book for guests to be able to write comments and congratulations to the bride and groom. This “open space” could be solid white pages spliced throughout the book, or light backgrounds, or even faded out pictures to allow black ink to show very clearly.

So, in the end, the couple not only has a fabulous book of loving and memorable comments (as opposed to just signatures), but also a very timeless and stylish album of their engagement session. Sweet! I hope every bride and groom I work for will allow me to design an album like this for them.

Here are some of the spreads from Stephanie and Bradley’s engagement session at Rancho del Orso – each spread is approx 8×16″ (two 8×8 pages):

New Sample Album Yea!

After some well deserved waiting (I really only had to wait a few weeks, but I am so impatient!) it’s finally here!! My new sample wedding album, and I love everything about it…everything. UPS delivered it the other day and when I opened the box up and I was soooo excited! I chose to do something a little non-traditional with the Navy leather, but I really like the way it turned out. It stands out and that is what I was really wanting this album to do. First off this is a 12×12, 40-page (yes forty!) album with Duo-Tone leather strip in Cinnamon Weave. It also has a 6×6 metal cameo…it is a gorgeous piece of brushed aluminum with a photo printed to the metal! These will become my “designer albums”…it really is stunning in person, so if you wanna check it out, let me know and we can set up an appointment! Ok, now on to the photos so you can see all of the amazingness of the album!!

These albums are hand bound in Dallas – the leather is stretched perfectly!
