Alissa and Cole met me in Abilene for their fabulous engagement session. We started off at Hardin Simmons where they met, went to downtown, then more downtown, and then finished up a little outside of downtown . Alissa and Cole preferred the more modern look so we were in search of clean and crisp lines.

We were super lucky that the Hardin Simmons chapel where they will be getting married was open so we could take some really dramatic shoots in there. Cole’s twin brother is a pianist so of course we had to do some poses with the fabulous grand piano.

Alissa has the most contagious smile, every time she smiled I found myself smiling immediately . This couple was so flexible, willing to smile anywhere…even in an empty construction site. Such a smart, beautiful, outgoing, sweet, kind and friendly pair. It was a real pleasure getting to drive around with these new friends.

It’s family portrait time! I did some for the Connelly family awhile back and they turned out great! I shot Emma and Shuanna along with their cousin Regan for my Tutus and Tea Party session and it was such great fun I was happy to have them back. This time we did a family/maternity session because mom Jennifer is expecting a new sister little Guyer Grae.

I’m so excited to be posting Andrea and Tim’s engagement session! We shot in downtown Abilene for an urban feel and with Andrea’s fabulous red dress it turned out very elegant, yet fun. Since we scheduled it on a Sunday we got to use all sorts of awesome spots I’ve always wanted to use but were always full of cars. Like this really great parking garage with large old fashioned paned windows. Here are a few of my favorites.

Kyla and L.D. were married a few weeks ago and I was honored to be there photographer at the lovely ceremony. They came all the way from Stephanville to be married at the Star of Texas Bed and Breakfast because the eclectic vintage vibe fit Kyla’s style perfectly! The ceremony was held and twilight with all the twinkle lights draped through the trees and it was so romantic. L.D. wrote and preformed a song just for Kyla during the ceremony – it was so sweet I almost cried.

I’m happy to share with you Becky and Micheal’s engagement session. We met up at ACU a couple weekends ago for their shoot. I immediately connected with these two – they are super sweet, crazy in love, and just really fun to be around. Becky’s daughter Destiny came along too, the three of them together might have been almost too much for my camera to handle…oh the beauty! I think Destiny needs to get to a modeling agency asap, how gorgeous is she?

This is my favorite kind of bridal session. I love the natural feel of going out to an open field. No background distractions, and nothing but the focus on the bride and how amazing she looks in her dress. Nature is the best way to bring out your true beauty, in my opinion.

And when there is a vintage chair involved it makes it that much more awesome!

This is one of my very favorites from the day. The tall, wispy, straw-like grass. The amazingly quiet feel, as if she could sit out here all day and just think about L.D. And the touch of vintage with the mauve chair matches the feel of her dress and pearls perfectly.

These are the shoes Kyla wore on her wedding day, I love the color and the super high heels.

Since Kyla was planning a vintage fall themed wedding we had to take some out on the road with the red and orange leaves hanging of the arching tree branches in the background.

The pleats. The lace. The beading. All so very pretty and bridal. It was one of the best lace dresses ever, if you ask me.

I have to once again explain how important this is to my process and HOW FUN IT IS! Sure, it takes some figuring out of schedules, timing, where to shoot, what to wear (or what NOT to wear)…but then guess how many times I’ve heard,

“We’re SO glad we did the Engagement Session!”

This has happened a few times this year and each time, I’ve been so so so happy with the results and so have my couples. It let’s us get to know each other, you learn how fun it is to have a session, you get tips and tricks that we use on your wedding day, and you get to KISS A LOT. It’s probably the ONE time leading up to your wedding that you and your fiance get to connect, hang out, and just be in love.

When Stormie & Jason wanted to bring their cute little dog Max, of course I was happy. I have quite a few clients with dogs and I always encourage them to bring all the family along to their engagement session. Even a bridal session if they want! If it’s important to you, include it in the session. You’ll enjoy your images more if you make them totally you!

Tis the season for holiday greetings, so get your Christmas cards while they’re hot! Whether you are a previous client wanting to use pictures from earlier in the year or if you need to schedule a new portrait session if you place your order by December 20th we can guarantee Christmas delivery. We’ve extended our Christmas order deadline to accommodate all you procrastinators – like me, I haven’t even taken my family portraits yet! It always sneaks up on me, you know what they say about the cobbler’s children….

All of our cards are large 5×7 cards print on thick photo card stock with a shimmery pearl or lovely textured linen finish. One side always features a large single image so that your reciepiants can frame it after the holidays if they choose. You can choose from a 2 sided postcard style or a 4 sided folded style. We have many predesigned cards that you can tweak the colors, fonts, and text to make it your own or have us make a card design from scratch.
